The Colony Homeowners Association - Overview

The Colony Homeowners' Association (HOA) purpose is to serve and protect the collective interests of Colony owners. As the Developer completes each phase of The Colony infrastructure, responsibility for its maintenance is shifted to the HOA.

The Colony HOA was chartered in 1998. Though controlled by the Developer for the first five years, beginning in 2004, the HOA has been governed by a seven member Board of Trustees elected by the Membership. Trustees are unpaid and serve staggered, two-year terms.

The HOA is funded by membership dues, based on a budget adopted by the homeowners at its Annual Meeting. For 2018, homeowner dues are $10,700.  The  HOA employs a full-time general manager, administrative assistant, ranch manager and crew, and 24/7 gatehouse staff.  The HOA team provides a variety of services including operations management,  forest oversight and protection,  seasonal social  events,  and regular communications.
